Generation levels costs Generation XP, which is gained by completing quests and gaining ores. The levels boost your ore gain and give you Generation Points, which are used in the Skill Tree. Generation also affects training speed (Generation 1 = 1 xp/s, Generation 10 = 10 xp/s).
